Patrick Cox was elected in 2008 to the Board of Directors of Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), the nation’s largest electric cooperative with assets over $1 billion. He served seven years as a Director, and retired as President of the Board in June 2015 in order to devote more attention to the new Cooperative Leadership Network. Cox was the Associate Director of The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at University of Texas, Austin. He remains active as a professional historian through Patrick Cox Consultants, LLC, a professional focus on Southwestern American and U.S. history and Biographies. He has extensive nonprofit, higher education and public sector administrative experience that includes governance and ethics, planning, program development, fundraising, legal research, communications and community involvement.
